To get started with the extension, new users need to install a toolchain, get the SDK, open an application and create a build configuration. While all the tools to do so are available in the sidebar in some fashion, it's not always obvious what the next step is, and whether you have missed some important piece.
To streamline the onboarding workflow, the sidebar will now start showing you exactly what you're missing to get to the next stage, and offer present buttons for getting through the required setup.
Through this mechanism in the sidebar, the extension now guides new users through the first few steps:
- Install your first toolchain
- Get the SDK
- Create or open an application
- Create the first build configuration
- Install the nRF Command Line tools
- Initialize your West workspace
- Detect and fix broken SDK installations
