How to migrate from nrf-connect debug type

The previous nrf-connect debug type is deprecated but remains available for compatibility. For new and updated configurations, change "type": "nrf-connect" to "type": "nrf-debug" and make the following updates:

  • Replace runToEntryPoint with an entryPoint in the corresponding inferiors item.
  • Replace gdbServer.address or serverAddress with debugServerAddress.
  • Remove gdbServer, serverpath, and serverArgs. The extension starts west debugserver automatically for local sessions.
  • Replace the old logging object with either "logging": "default" or "logging": "verbose".
  • Replace snr with deviceId.
