Terminal for the last used toolchain and SDK

The following options open the terminal for the last used toolchain and SDK versions:

  • Welcome View:

    • You can use the Open terminal action. If you select different toolchain and SDK versions for the terminal using the Pick Toolchain and SDK for nRF Connect Terminal button, this option uses the picked toolchain and SDK versions moving forward.

    • You can start the terminal profile using the Open Terminal Profile action in the Manage toolchains Manage toolchains action menu. Even if you select different toolchain and SDK versions for the terminal using the Change Terminal Configuration button, this option later always defaults to the last used toolchain and SDK versions.

  • Panel View - You can start the terminal profile from by completing the following steps:

    1. Open the Panel View in Visual Studio Code.
    2. Go to the Terminal tab.

    3. Click the Launch Profile... button.

  • Command Palette - Run the nRF Connect: Create Shell Terminal command.
