For evaluation purposes or in cases where you already have installed the nRF Connect SDK, you can install the main nRF Connect for VS Code extension separately from the SDK. This way you can also install preview releases of the extension, which give a sneak peek into soon-to-be-released features still in development.
To install the main nRF Connect for VS Code extension manually, use one of the following options:
- Visit the nRF Connect for VS Code extension page in Visual Studio Code Marketplace.
- Open the Extensions sidebar directly in VS Code and search for the nRF Connect for VS Code extension.
The main extension installs the other extensions of the nRF Connect for Visual Studio Code extension set.
