The Pins View displays the general overview of the SoC pins and its assignments. As such, it presents a mirror image of the Peripherals View.
Each pin entry shows the pin label and one or more assignment shapes on the pin wire. Clicking the pin assignment lists all node assignments for the pin in the Pin Overview.
Hovering over an assignment shape highlights it and opens a tooltip with the label, devicetree path, and state. You can reassign an assignment by dragging its shape to another pin.
Note
If the node assignments for a pin have conflicts, a caution appears next to the pin.
If you assign a pin on a disabled GPIO port, the assignment has no effect.
The Problems panel in the Visual Studio Code's Panel Views shows the appropriate warning about assignment being ineffective.
This warning doesn't apply to the AIN pins of the ADC peripheral.
