nRF Util

You can use a dedicated nRF Util modem trace Wireshark plugin to collect Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) traces from any device that supports modem trace, for example a System-in-Package (SiP) from the nRF91 Series. The trace can be used to analyze the communication between the device and a modem-based network.

With this method, you need to install Wireshark and a dedicated plugin provided by the nrfutil trace command. If you prefer to capture modem trace in command line using nrfutil trace lte, read the Capturing LTE modem trace data in command line page.

Tip

You can also capture modem traces from the command line using the trace lte subcommand.

Note

This guide is only available for the nRF91 Series devices, Nordic Thingy:91, and Nordic Thingy:91 X.
