nRF Util follows its own versioning pattern based on semantic versioning. The core modules and each of the commands are versioned separately. For this reason, installation and upgrading procedures for the utility and the commands are separate.
The following table lists nRF Util components that can be versioned.
| Component | Comments | Installation steps | Changelog |
|---|---|---|---|

Note
With the release of the nRF Util v7.0.0, nRF Util's architecture has been reworked and is no longer compatible with earlier versions. This also means that nRF Util is no longer provided through pip.
The nrf5sdk-tools command preserves the functionality of nRF Util v6.x.x in versions 7.0.0 and later.
See the command's documentation for more information, including how to obtain archived bundles of nRF Util v6.x.x.
