Starting modem tracing in Wireshark

Complete the following steps:

  1. Make sure you have configured application for tracing.
  2. Make sure you have installed the plugin.

  3. In Wireshark, locate the nRF Util modem trace plugin on the list of the capture tools.

  4. Depending on whether you want to configure tracing options before staring the capture:

    • If you do not want to change tracing options, double click the plugin name in the capture tool list to start tracing.

    • If you want to configure tracing options:

      1. Click the gear icon next to the nRF Util modem trace plugin entry in the interfaces list.

        This opens the Interface Options window that lists the plugin options.

      2. In the Interface Options window, configure the tracing parameters.

      3. Click Start to begin modem tracing.
