Capturing HCI packets in Wireshark

To capture HCI packets in Wireshark, complete the following steps:

  1. Run Wireshark.

  2. Select the hardware interface by double-clicking on its entry in the hardware interface list. In the following figure, this is the nRF Logger for Host Controller Interface COM10-hci.

The following capture screen options are available for capturing HCI packets:

  • Serial baud rate - Change UART baud rate. The default is 115200, which is valid for most cases.

This documentation does not go into details on how to view the dissected packets displayed in Wireshark. For more information, read the Wireshark documentation.
