Reset the board and try tracing again, especially if tracing into a PcapNG file does not produce any trace.

Make sure that your modem firmware is up to date. Check for updates on the device product page, for example nRF9160 DK Downloads or the Nordic Thingy:91 Downloads.

Check that your application has modem tracing enabled.

The Kconfig flag for modem tracing varies depending on the nRF Connect SDK version. See the note for configuring application for tracing.

Check the serial port used for
trace. Select the serial port with the highest Virtual COM (VCOM) value. Ensure that your application does not allocate this serial port for anything else.
