nRF Connect for Desktop is a cross-platform framework for development applications, available for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

nRF Connect for Desktop is designed to be used with Nordic Semiconductor development kits and dongles. The apps will detect which kit you connected to your computer and upload the needed firmware.

The following applications are available from nRF Connect for Desktop. All of them share OS requirements and installation instructions.

Matter Quick Start Set up and configure Matter accessory devices for different smart home ecosystems. Supported
nPM PowerUP Profile your battery and generate a battery model. Supported
Power Profiler Measure the real-time power consumption of your designs. Supported
Programmer Program firmware to Nordic Semiconductor devices and inspect memory layout. Supported
Quick Start Set up and install software when starting your work with Nordic Semiconductor devices. Supported
RSSI Viewer Visualize dBm per frequency in the 2400-2480 MHz range. Deprecated
Serial Terminal Cross-platform terminal emulator for serial port communications with Nordic Semiconductor devices over Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART). Supported
Toolchain Manager Install and manage tools to develop with the nRF Connect SDK v2.9.1 or earlier. Deprecated: does not support the nRF Connect SDK v3.0.0 and later. Use nRF Connect for Visual Studio Code or command line instead.
