The Log panel is located below the main application window in all nRF Connect for Desktop apps. It allows you to view the most important log events, tagged with a timestamp. Each time you open an app, a new session log file is created.

The Log panel provides the following controls:

| Open log file | Opens the current log file in a text editor. When troubleshooting, use this to view more detailed information than what is shown in the Log panel. |
| Clear Log | Clears the information currently displayed in the Log panel. The contents of the log file are not affected. |
| Show Log | Toggles the visibility of the Log panel in the user interface. |
| Autoscroll Log | Toggles the automatic scrolling of the Log panel. Disable to freeze the log display for inspection. |
