This option is useful if you are working with multiple projects across different workspaces and need to frequently switch between them.
You can set a different workspace from the following areas of the extension:

In the Source Control View, click on the workspace tag located towards the top of the View.

In the Command Palette, type
nRF Connect: Set Source Control West Workspace.
