Custom Git repositories can include versions (tags, branches, or commit SHAs) that are not available in the default index listed in the Manage SDKs > Install SDK in the Welcome View. Such repositories have their own west workspace manifest. They can be used for limited customer sampling releases, internal SDK releases, or other deliveries with restricted access.

Some repositories require authentication to access them. You can set up the authentication using gitcredentials.
